Title: Greeting Card Factory---
Post by: anneg on May 29, 2017, 05:43:03 PM
I beleive that I saw a comment about GFC recently, but am unable to find it.
I have lost mine, where, I have fail to remember but have not had it for quite while, I did have version 9, has anyone got this or is there a later one which is best for Windows 10?

Hopefully home now to stay and feeling like making a few cards again.

I can't help either I am afraid - I still have version 8, but I cannot remember when I last used it as I tend to use Craft Artist these days.

I couldn't get my GCF to work on windows 10 so I got CA when it was 5, it's not as easy as GCF but it does more.

I have version 7 and Windows 7 too. I mostly use it for inserts as I find the layouts easier in GCC.

Just noticed this. I couldn't get my GCF 7  to work in Windows 10 , that is one of the reason s I reverted to windows 7.

I must admit I'm using CAP far more than GCF these days, but I still like it for their verses, so tend to copy and paste them over to CAP now.

Viv can I ask can you use the verses from the disc. I had an older version and found it very easy to use especially for verses.
I have just bought a laptop with Windows 10. I too am trying to get used to CA but have difficulties with inserts.
I don't make a lot of cards and feel if I buy a newer version of GCF I might manage a bit better, but as they are about 30 I don't want to waste my money if it is not compatible.

Rene, what is your problem with CAP inserts? Perhaps we can help and save you some money.

Does CA have ready made verses ?
I have made a couple of cards this week,  I googled the verses, typed them out but they weren't central. I used blank a4 landscape.
As I said I am just trying to get used to CA.

You can go into 'INSERT', along the top bar from 'file, edit etc., and choose 'SENTIMENT OR QUOTE' at the bottom.
There are not so many as you'd like I expect, but they do cover a lot of topics.
However, once you have typed in a verse you are offered the option 'ADD AS SENTIMENT OR VERSE'
If you choose this the menu pops up for you to add it to the relevant category.
Depending on how your other verses are saved you could try to drag and drop or copy and paste into CAP for your card.
You can use the little square to the top left of your text to move it about the page. To get text central I use the 'ALIGN' option at bottom right. I centralise the 'page' or box/paper/material that I want the text on by using the centralise horizontal and vertical buttons. Then centralise the text on top of it, move it up or down if you prefer, then group the text and the background under it. You can then move them together to where you want them and the text stays put.

Hope that makes sense and helps.

Thank you Brenda I will give it a go.
I don't have any verses saved, when I used to make a lot of cards I used to use a very old disc called Create A Card Gold very easy to use but very basic.
I make  mostly Wedding Stationery ( which my daughter does all the wording for me using word )
I have just completed my last order for this year so hopefully I will have time to play, this is the trouble I go months without using CA so it is like starting from the beginning again.

I have managed to do it Brenda with your help and Lynn's video thanks  to both of you.
I will now write it down or I will forget the next time I come to do it. Lol
I'm still curious to know whether GCF verses would work with Windows 10.

Thanks again.
