Title: Diamond Painting
Post by: janine on March 11, 2018, 02:42:22 pm
Hi everyone. Saw these advertised on the famous bidding website. Sent for an owl one its kept me occupied all weekend!! It's my don't have to think craft. You get the numbered pattern, diamond bits, a pen thing and a bit of wax like stuff all in the kit. So easy to do. A lot are advertised from China and quite cheap but you can order them from the U.K. Will frame mine when it is finished. Cheers Janine :)

Uploading photos is not too hard.
The first thing you have to do is ensure that your image is within the size parameters that will upload. Some will upload but become too big to be seen well when the small one is opened.
Some of us use the Fotosizer program for this.  http://www.fotosizer.com/Download  Just download it and it's easy to use. You can start by dragging your photofile into the workspace and go from there. I use preset size 800X600, but it may vary by the dpi and all that gubbins that your camera or scanner produces your photos at. A bit of trial and error may be needed.
Then you start a new message or topic as usual, but before you post find the ATTACH box under the text box
Hit the BROWSE button and then find where you have saved your picture and select it. It's position will pop into the box but you won't see it at this stage. If you want to add a second or subsequent pic you click on the MORE ATTAChMENTS button next to that and repeat.
Make sure that your picture is bright enough and the right orientation for best results.

We'd love to see your work. That's a new craft for many of us I'm sure.

I assume it works very much like cross stitch, but you just put the gem/diamond in the relevent square.
I'd be interested to see the finished picture too, as I have two pictures of cross stitched owls on my walls.

Those instructions aren't very helpful, they don't tell you who to have a fight with  ;) Gloves or baseball bats?

Will ask hubby if he can upload a photo when I've finished it. Yes I had to laugh too at the after a good fight instructions! With the pen thing you just rub the tip onto the wax square that is included in the kit just don't forget to take the little plastic square of the wax first then you just pick up the diamonds with it. Yes it's a bit like cross stitch but easier you really don't have to think much. :)Janine

I'm sure Annie would love this too. Just looked on Amazon and the first image is a unicorn, so yes, Annie would love that.

Wow, I can't believe how cheap they are.... some I really like are only £3 or £4!
do you really get everything in the kit to complete the picture?
the decision is which one to start off with!!

Hi all the kits I've bought have come with everything included. I bought a lot of mine from China and although you have to wait awhile they do get here eventually! Janine
